CR2008 - Cross-tab Row and Column Totals do not match actual

Hello, I’m in desperate need in finding the answer to this.
I’m using CR2008 at work.
I wrote several reports using cross-tab. The row and column totals are displayed. I spotted some of the totals do not add up to the actual total. How could this be? I expected the tool to add them up across or vertically without any behind the scene processing. The error is random. That’s why I didn’t catch it right away. The file is too large to drill down to verify.
Could someone please help.
