CR 2008 deployment

Hi all members,
I am not very much familiar with Crystal environment, kindly advice for following.

CR 2008 deployment has to be done for more than 30 users, now i have to confirm do i have to install CR 2008 on 30 systems so that users can access and do reporting.

If yes, then how all these 30 users will be synchronized to a single repository.

Kindly give me guidance.

Are you talking about Crystal Reports designer or Crystal Reports Server XI?

If it`s designer, thats a standalone desktop app, there is no repository.

It`s a standalone application then. You use this tool for building reports.

There is no repository.

It would need installing on all 30 PC`s.

i have also a deployment of BOXI3.0 , infact its already deployed

now my client requirement is following.

After creating reports in ‘Crystal Report 2008’ all the users should save the in BO repository.

What i want to confirm, after deploying ‘CR 2008’ on al 30 systems, How ‘CR 2008’ will communicate with BOXI3.0 repository.

BOXI3.0 is deployed on a main server system.

Maybe you should have said that in the first post…

Remember that BOXI is Crystal Reports native environment - even more so than Deski or Webi so the integration has been there forever.

All you need to do is save a report directly to the BOXI R3 CMS, load reports through the CMC or use the report publishing wizard. Lots of options.

Although make sure your using BOXI R3 Pro Enterprise Reporting Edition, or BOXI R3 Premium.

Our client has ‘BOXI3.0 Premium’

i agree while doing ‘Save As’ it gives option to save the report in BO repository.

But i never tried this on this sclae… Will all the 'CR 2008" deployment of of 30 systems communicate to server automatically i.e. BO main installation to save the report in the repository or i should have to go through some steps???

Obviously i agree, there should be proper networking …systems should be on same domain…
