Corrupted CMS Database w/ Intact FRS Directories

I have a situation where the CMS database is corrupted and not allowing the servers to start. ( V. 3.0) however the FRS is in tact. Is ther a way that can migrate the content of my Filestore\Input and Filestore\Output directory to a new CMS database?

I have ruled out the import wizard as that requies you to log on to the CMS. I looked into using the CCM and going into the properties of the SIA to change the database but am not having success there either.

Any one ever have this situation and if so what did you do to resolve it.

This was caused by the user having an intact XI R2 stystem, upgrading to 3.0 then trying to piggyback a 3.1 install on top of that.

I would go down the root of restoring backup for you DB … assuming you have one… :nonod:

Surely they didn’t upgrade their system without backing it up first?.. :blue:

Back ups…well this time no they did not.

What I ended up doing was running a clean install of 3.0, take the database that was thought to be corrupt, plug it in after the install was complete via the SIA.

I then created a new SIA and all the services that went along with it. They are now working off the original database. I then deleted the original services in the original SIA.

Plugged in the original filestore Input and Output. Everything seems normal and working properly.

I still cant delete the original SIA so now I have 2. I have one that is empty (original) and one that has all the services working properly.

Thanks

Have you tried re-creating an SIA with the same name as the first and ticking the ‘Recreate the SIA if it already exists in the CMS’ option, and then deleting it?
