Connection or SQL sentence error.

Hi all

I have this Problem.
Pls resole it

I am having the BO main Key file in my loc data folder.
Oracle as the backend.

I am able to login in BO reporter module with the Security domain chosen and get connected to repository…

But unable to Refresh or edit data provider for any of the reports .

Also i not able to create report for the selected universe in repository .

It gives the following error:

Connection or SQL sentence error.
Suggests how to resolve.

Hi Dezza

I have checked the tsnnames.ora file with the one on repository
Fine .

Suggest way where i could find the connection used for the
report generated in Reporter module.

Further on checking the connection in the universe the server is responding.

You are getting

Connection or SQL Sentence Error

b’coz there is no connection to the DB that the Universe is using. When you get that error message click on Details and you will get a detailed error message. Find out the error message there and make sure the Universe connection to the DB is set properly. Open the Universe in Designer and go to File - > Parameters and click on the Test or choose Edit and make sure the given details are correct.

When you get the SQL Sentence error message, there is often a ‘Details’ button, which if you press it may give you an Oracle error code? Have you got a button and is there a code - if so what is it?

I have fixed the problem.
The problem was associated with the connection string.
