Connecting Business Objects 3.0 DI to different mainframes

Hi,

I am a relatively new user to Business Objects X 3.0
My company uses the BODI and BODQ components for data migration, cleansing etc.
I have searched all over for specific detailed information on how to connect the DI to mainframe systems so as to extract data from them, but have got little success.

Please help me out.

I need to be able to connect to

  1. Mainframe running on OS390 with DB2 database.
  2. AS400 system with a DB2 database.

Any help on connecting to mainframes please. I have installed the DB2 Connect Personal Edition and have been experimenting with it.

I have not got used to Mainframe Environments, how it would be., etc.

But once we had a Mainframe Connection required to AS400. That time I was asked to use a DSN

We used the Client Access ODBC Driver (32-bit). Used the Data Source wizard and created a DSN and used that DSN for getting connected to AS400. That was a iSeries Navigator.

I hope this might pour in some ideas to you.
