We have customers who already have earlier versions of Business Objects BO XI r2.

For these customers, it would be preferable not to require them to
upgrade to XI v3.1 or to buy an application specific license. This as
it adds cost and complexity for them.

Is there a way to make the Universes and Reports we develop in BO xi
3.1 backward compatible with earlier BO versions incl. XI r2?

Something like “Save Universe in BO XI v2 compatibility mode” or
creating a biar file that is backward compatible.

I tried this, using a BIAR file, from a 3.0>XIr2 and it didn’t work for me…
