Combining Reports

Does anyone know how to combine reports in BO 5.0? If I have a report with, say, 2 tabs, can I combine it with another report, with 2 tabs, to create one report with 4 tabs?

Have you tried saving the report tab as a template and then applying that (for each of the two tabs you want to transfer) to the other report. There are various options to select, although you may have to recreate the queries first in the second report - although the template will/should transfer all formatting, sections, breaks etc.

Try this…

Insert a third tab access data differently and pull it from the other report (the objects) then see if the objects are compatible. If you are able to select all objects into one report then you will be good to go.

Hope this helps you…

Hi Michael,
A few months ago I came across an add-in called “productivity tools” that may have come from an earlier trial version of version 5.0 and I think that this add-in did just what you are looking for. Unfortunately I can no longer find it on my system, but if someone else has it perhaps they could send it your way. Simon

How about inserting a second table on report1 and recreating the query from report2 in this table?

If you want to have data from Current period and Cummulative period show in the same report so you perform calculations with the two;

Create a new report - Insert / Report
On the new report select - Insert/Table

When the new table wizard appears select option “Use existing data from document”. You will then be able to select the data from the two reports and
have those objects show up in the new table. This would allow you to show “Current” period data and “Cummulative” data in the same report.

If you just want the two tables to display on the same page, with no interaction
between the values of the two table I would suggest changing to structure view and simply copy the entire table from report two to a location on report 1. You can
do this with Cut-and-Paste.

I want the data from report 1 and report2 to print out on the same page.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Another FYI on displaying two tables on the same report (option 2). To control how the tables appear on the report choose the FORMAT TABLE option and select the Appearance tab to select how the two tables should appear on the report. This will keep them from overlapping one another.

I was not able to use cut and paste, but I did save as a template and insert into my report.
