In XI 3.1 SP2, I noticed that CMS restarted every time I updated the mapped LDAP group by goint to CMC > Authentication > LDAP > click “Update” button. Did you experience the same? I wonder if it is a bug or something I did not set up properly. Please advise.

Do you have a clustered environment?
In a single server installation, a CMS restart would essentially mean you lose your CMC session when you update LDAP groups. Is that what you notice?

I’ve the same experience with LDAP update button.
I know what is the problem.
This is bug of Business Objects R3.1 after that BO developers provided auto update of LDAP groups as internal feature without any description or something.
This is almost the same as support for Active Directories but interval update field has been set to 15 minutes and disabled for user or administrator.
Try to do the test and click update throw interval shorter then 15 minutes. If you increase interval to longer then 15 minutes and click update CMS will goes down and restart.
This is a bug.
I thing that is time to open ticket in SAP.
With BOXI R3.1 SAP gave as excellent feature, without any information about it. Brilliant.
Additionally this is not working so proper.

I experienced a similar problem which was resolved by FP1.8 or FP2.1 since you are on SP2. Sorry, I don’t have the ADAPT #.
