CMS on machine was stopped due to a critical error

Hi,

We installed 4.1 SP04 on the machine.
However, on logging to CMC it throws following error.

Please help.

Account information not recognized: Could not reach CMS ‘servername:6400’. The CMS on machine ‘server name’ was stopped due to a critical error. (FWM 20031)

Are you able to ping this server? Is it up and running?

Yes IPS installation had been successfully done.
Please also note that services in CCM are up and running.

What do the windows event logs say?
