In CMC the cluster tab is inactivated. Does it mean that there is no clustering done?

Cluster tab? What cluster tab? What version?
Sorry I’m so confused… don’t remember a cluster tab…

Click settings> you will see cluster tab along with other tabs like metrics, properties, limits and rights.

Ah, yes.
Sorry, I was looking at CMS Properties. Doh!
Yes, no Cluster tab means you do not have a cluster. Else the tab would show the servers comprising your cluster.

if it is…as shown below
CMS Name: prod05.cms (PROD05.xxx.yyy.com)
Cluster Name: @PROD05.xxx.yyy.com
Cluster Members: prod05.cms (PROD05.xxx.yyy.com)
and the production server is prod05. Does it mean clustering is done???
What i thought was there is no clustering done since the server names are same…I’m confused…
Thanks,

A cluster is simply a collection of servers (1 or more). You can always have a cluster of one server, and you can correctly refer to your single-server installation as a cluster. If you expand your cluster and add more CMS servers, then you can login to it by calling the cluster name (in your case “@PROD05”) instead of the individual server names.

Thank you…
Will the first CMC installed list as a cluster by default?

Yes, by default the first CMS installed will list as the first (and only for single-server clusters) member of the cluster.
