I am attempting to configure a test environment for BusObj. I have replicated all necessary information to a separate database. The problem I am experiencing, though, is occurring in both this environment and our production environment.
However, I ran into a problem when I tried to modify the Repository Domain Connection. I am a General Supervisor, so I am sure I have permission and that is not the issue.
After I click on either the icon, or Tools/Repository… and the box pops up, I am able to modify all of the connections (except the security of course). When I modify the connection to point to a different database, or use a different name and select ‘OK’ and ‘finished’ BusObj appears to be working and eventually returns me to the pop up box (no errors, or error messages) Yet when I scroll over to view the connection information, nothing has changed. No matter what I try I cannot get it to change. When I click ‘OK’ and return to the ‘Define Repository Connection Screen’ and return to the configure screen the changes are still there. They just disappear after I click ‘finish.’
I am able to add new Domains, and delete the existing one, but my modifications are not being accepted.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? (Or can you replicate it?) I am using version 4.1.2 and Oracle 7.x.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is a Bug apparently, if you contact tech support they should tell you as much. You CAN get round it by creating a ‘dummy’ connection and then changing M_REPO_N_CONNECTID in the OBJ_M_REPOSITORY table for the repository you want to modify to use the new connection.
We have done this and there do not seem to be any side effects… but BO won’t support repository hacking… so what are you supposed to do when a nasty little bug stands in your way?
Either way I daresay it’ll be fixed, patches will be available or something of the like soon enough!

Brent,
We too have experienced this one in version 4.1.2, it is a bug, I reported it to Tech Support who informed me it would be fixed in 4.1.3. They then promptly sent me 4.1.2a which still had the same problem.
If you use version 4.1.1 it will correctly modify the repository connections. We still keep a copy of this version installed here for this purpose, whilst we await 4.1.3 with bated breath
