I’m in Webi rich client working on a report with multiple queries and I’m looking to change between universe for one of the queries. I go and change the universe with no problem.
The problem I’m having is that the other query changes as well to this new universe. I want for the one query to change and keep the other one from pulling from the same source. Is their a setting I need to change so it only changes for the one query I’m making the change to? :?
SAP’s justification on this is that it’s “by design” , meaning that, if you were to create a complex query with 10 DPs, four of which were duplicates and the other six were “Add Query” based DPs, then, upon changing the universe connection of any of the 4 duplicates, that this change should of course cascade into all duplicate queries off of the one being changed.
It’s a safety measure. But I agree, it’s no fun to recreate complex data providers and then have to manually re-create them just to use a different Universe…
