Have done this on previous XI2 and XI3 installs.
install leaving the cms name as localhost.localdomain…
open BOE\CMC and import BIAR files, go into CMS Server and change to use the IP address of my RHEL VM…
Reboot server and use the IP address:6400 to log in… no problem.
I also had RHEL VMs (local) change the IP on me so I had to change this with serverconfig.sh
However in XI 4.2 when I try the above using IP address in CMS server properties and then try to restart it fails with a critical error.
What have I missed ? driving me nuts !
