I’m looking for instructions for creating dependent prompts (AKA “Cascading Prompts”) in Business Objects XI Release 2, but NOT the way that Robert Metzker describes them in his instructions from 2003. I need a way of prompting for values at several levels in the hierarchy. For example:
1.) Top Level Prompt (e.g. Country)
2.) 2nd Level Prompt (e.g. State)
3.) 3rd Level Prompt (e.g. City)
4.) 2nd Level Prompt (e.g. Language)
5.) 2nd Level Prompt (e.g. Company)
Where prompts 1, 2, & 3 are a normal hierarchy, but prompts 4 and 5 are independent of the others, but dependent on #1.
Does BOXIr2 Designer or Reports have a new feature in it for building these types of report prompts? I looked for “Cascading Prompts” and the @Prompt function in the Designer & User’s Guides, but didn’t see anything useful.
