Can't use all dimensions in the report (Merge dimension pb)

Hello guys.

I have 2 data providers.

DP1 : Region and City
DP2 : Country and City

I merge the dimension on City

But if i want to put coutry, city and region in a bmock, I can’t. (incompatible objects)

What is the reason ? What is the issue ? How can I resolve it ?

Try creating detail objects and then drag this into the block.

Go through this where you can get some idea on solving this.

It works but it is strange to not be able to do that…

If in my report, I have 100 objects, i have to do this 100 times ? It is too silly for B.O. to forbidden to use dimensions after merging another dimension
No fix pack or critical hot fixe to resolve it ??

Nope, thats the way the tool has always worked.

If you had multiple ID columns in a query how would it know which one to associate the other dimensions with?

Some people have problems with the auto link dimension functionality, sometimes there is room for error if you let a tool do everything for you…
