Can't log in through Designer, but can on CMC/Mgt Console

Hi Gurus,

My issue right now is as the title says. I have a Data Services server in our OVH environment (has a Sybase default repository and we are now creating other local repositories using MS SQL Server 2012). Using my local machine, I can log in just fine through the CMC/DS Management Console, but once I try to use the Designer, I get the generic SDK Failure message that tells me to recheck the User, Password, Host, etc.

I can ping our server just fine and can properly telnet ports 3500, 6400, 8080. This could mean that Designer itself is the issue. Any advice will help immensely. Thanks!

Update:
I have tried logging in while I have turned off my firewall and I still get this issue.

Have you set the right for your user/role in the CMC, on the Repository of “Allow User to retrieve Repository Password” ?

It’s fixed now. I can’t recall the exact steps taken, but it involved getting “creative” with opening ports in the local machine and adding lines to the hosts file of the server.
