In one of my reports there are 3 variables which I can’t delete. For testing purposes I already deleted all data providers, I still can’t delete those 3 variables. I even can’t edit these variables nor can I look at the data.
How can I get rid of them?

Right click on the column and go to variables and Check whether you can see the variables which you have created. Then click remove…

When you to the Data tab and click on variables; don’t you see the delete button highlighted there to click?
If not then probably it is an object from a DP.

When I do a right click on the variable in the “Report Manager”, “Edit Variable…” is greyed out.
In “Data” -> “Variables” the Edit and Remove buttons are greyed out.
All Data Providers are deleted.
I have admin rights. I was able to delete all other variables but not those 3 remaining ones…

I think rsekar meant any one column in the report body.
Your situation here seems odd… Can you verify for us if within the Data Manager in the report you don’t see anything below Data Providers in the window?
I am just trying to establish the fact that there are no DP’s whatsoever left and still there are variables which are acting like objects!

No data providers in data manager.
I noticed that I even can’t delete those variables when leaving the data provider as they are. I even can’t find them in the Query Panel 
P.S.: the report is from 2002, originally created with another BO version…

I think if you have created the variable in the data provider when you delete the DP it will go automatically.But if you created the variables in Report Level it wont come under DP.thosw will come seperatly.When you see the Data Managger in the left side you can see the Data Providers as well as Varibles.So you can extend the Variables and check the variables whatever you want to delete then clickl on Remove button, It will delete the variables.It does n’t matter that what version is in before.

I’m interested about the originally version fo the report… v5 ? v6 ? v6.1b ? V6.5 ? Sorry, I’m not very helpfull about this problem; But I think the report is corrupted… rip it off !
