Cannot Create Publication to File Location

Hi
I’ve been trying to set up Publications on our system and have managed to publish to Email accounts using a dynamic recipient list however I also wish to schedule to a file location but when I do I get the following error

“destination directory error.
[[CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged] ([2]/[8])]: [Permission denied]”

I have made sure that file location value is true in all job servers but still to no avail. However I can schedule single reports to a file location no problem.

For the record we have a static authorisation to write to our file location

No I really am confused! :hb:

Any help on this would be brilliant!
regards
Stew

Hi Stew,

Don’t really know what you mean here?

The Bo Service account requires windows folder permissions, by the look of the error.

A little more here:-

Hi Mark,

By Static authorisation I mean that we have a Business Objects service account in the windows folders structure that does not expire therefore we can use the same username and password forever - this is to alleviate permissions issues for users.

Secondly as I mentioned I can schedule a single report to the same file location without issue.

Hope this helps
Stew

Looks like its a known issue and has been logged with SAP:-

Hi Mark

In that case do you have a “Known Solution” available!!! :rotf:

Thanks
Stew

Stew,

In all seriousness it may have been fixed :).
I would get in touch with SAP and see if there is a hotfix for it, provided you have exhausted evreything else.
If you have a support contract, its shouldn’t be an issue, if it was, actually, logged in the first place.

Good Luck,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

All sorted now, it was a simple cut and paste issue with the service account password!! Like SQL server BO does not seem to like cut and paste passwords with special characters!

Now to Schedule to an FTP location!

Cheers
Stew
