I am new to design studio. We have a requirement like below.
We have different data sources (sap and non-sap like sql server, flat files, excel, etc).Data is around 15 to 20 million records and expected to increase with 1-2 million on monthly basis. (Operational systems).We need to build dashboards on top of these DS.
Is it possible to connect SAP and non-SAP sources in a single dashboard? if yes, plz guide me how can we achieve this.
Will be these any performance issue with such a huge data?
I don’t see why not. I’ve not used Design Studio in anger yet, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason why you can’t add as many connections as you like. Not actually tried it yet, though! And my data sources are non-SAP.
Performance? You might want to pre-aggregate at the database end? If you have to funnel non-SAP through a UNX, you’re going to have issues with millions of rows, I suspect…
As long as you have the server side plugins for Universe connectivity it`s feasible.
I would review the design studio documentation with regard to either using multiple queries from different universes and\or multisource universes. I would also check your requirements to make sure design studios capability covers them all without 3rd party plugins\enhancements.
