There are a number of locations to obtain this:
Our XI 3.1 lists:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Enterprise\Keycode]
“Version”=“12.0.0.800”
And I suspect this could be the reason why FP1.2 does not recognize that we are on 3.1 and not 3.0 i.e. should Version = 12.1.0.0 ???
please …
… thanks …

I’ve got a non-fixpack’ed XI 3.1 client tools installation here, but I don’t see that key. Maybe it’s only on the server.

Thanks cashworth - probably - and that’s where I’m facing the issue.
Client Tools contain 12.0.0.0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObj Configuration]
“Minimal CMS version”=“12.0.0.0”
“ID”=hex:e6,b5,10,c4,e9,a5,c1,5e
“TimeStamp”=hex:2e,69,25,00,b7,1a,50,bb
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObj Configuration\BusinessDesigner]
“WorkgroupLoginInAutomation”=“Y”
“ExeName”=“designer”
“LongName”=“Universe Designer”
“MultiCreateObject”=“Y”
“ShortName”=“design”
“Version”=“12.0.0.0”

Our base 3.1 install serverside reads:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Enterprise\Keycode]
“Version”=“12.1.0.882”
Do not see this available on the client side!

Many thanks HRS
It confirms that our vendor sent us a dodgy install pack - I’m going to attempt a registry alteration to get the fix pack in whilst waiting for their response lol
Yeah - the client tools typically only reflect the base version.
