Hi Guys,
We are facing issue after restoring CMS DB and FRS to another server.
Whenever we try to refresh report in InfoView, it throws error:
I tried importing respective universe in Designer, it got imported and tested objects working fine. I’m able to create new report from Universe.
We are on BO XI R2 SP2
Any help…?

What exactly did you do when restoring?
E.g. Did you update the FRS path in the CMC, etc?
Another possibility is an out of sync backup; when FRS and CMS are online when backing up a synchronization issue can easily happen. Previous to SAP BI 4.x only cold/ offline backups of the BusObjects repository were supported. So maybe you got an invalid backup in the first place…

Try going into the report and changing the universe. That will sometimes fix it.
Otherwise your best bet is going to be re-importing it from another environment.

Thanks Andreas and Lugh for reply.
I took CMS DB and FRS backup in synch i.e. no user is working with BO environment.
I have already updated FRS path in CMC.
I tried DeskI report with modify, it got refreshed successfully. I exported same report to repository and then tried refreshing in InfoView but same error occured.
Any help ?

That’s very weird. I would check a few things out:
Do you only have one Input File Server running? If you have more than one, do they all have the same configuration?
Does the user account that the SIA runs under have full control to all the folders in the Data store?
Is the DeskI perhaps using a locally cached version of the universe?
Are there any odd permissions set on the universe?

Thanks Lugh,
We have only one Input File Server running.
We are on BO XI R2, and CMS is running under local system account and have full control over data store.
I deleted universe from local machine and then tried but in vein.
User Administrator has full control over universe and folders and there is no data security applied in in universe. What do u mean by Odd permissions?

On R2? Okay, then you also have to check that the Input File Server is running under the same account.
By “odd” permissions I meant anything that wasn’t one of the standard access levels.
You may be out of luck, and will just need to recreate the report.

Did you try repointing the data providers, as Lugh mentioned?
Dont know if any of this info would help:-
