Our ERP database is MS SQL and we use Business Objects to report from it. We want to encrypt the database at rest. Our ERP supports this and can encrypt/decrypt on the fly. Business Objects is reading the database through ODBC, of course. My ERP documentation says this is the protocol:
“Colleague Data Defense utilizes SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), together with the management tools within SA Valet, to encrypt, decrypt, and re-encrypt databases and manage keys.”
Could Business Objects be configured to use TDE for reporting?
