Cache&Join not showing in From tab of 4.0 version Design

I have upgraded the 3.1 DS to 4.0 version, where i got the performance issues while running the Jobs in 4.0 version. I had some observations after upgradation…

1.The source tables all have Join Rank(10,20,100…) and cache as ‘yes’. I can see in both versions while opening the source tables where as in the 4.0 version , i have checked the From table there is no Join Rank and cache(defaultly Join Rank:0 , cache: automatic)… Is it a bug in 4.0 version?

2.reading an excel file in 4.0 version is slow compared to 3.1 version. Is it got fixed in other version?

For 1st point i have changed the cache as yes instead of automatic and the joink rank also now there is a boost in performance… same monitor statistics coming in both versions…

my version BODS 4.0 SP1…

please post your suggestions on this

Regarding the join rank and cache: someone else noted this too on the forum. After the upgrade the settings are gone. I am not sure how and why and did not encounter this my self.

Reading from Excel is indeed slower, has been seen on this forum, but nothing official from SAP or a fix/setting/work-a-round.

Hi,

i had took the atl files for one of my dataflow without changing the cache option as yes(default is: Automatic) and changing it as Yes.

I have exceuted the DF’s with both options, i saw more performance on the cache option changed to ‘Yes’.

Anybody had this situation in DS 4.0 version after upgrading from DS 3.1?
