Prior migration we were using NonHana DB,Post migration we are using HANA-DB, could you please suggest possible modes/configuration areas where we can embed required parameters/property modes for better reporting performance in correlation with HANA
Surely this is something that cannot be simply performed by using a few posts on the internet?
I suspect tuning HANA is a very specific skill and is different for each environment?
In addition there will be legacy stuff that will perform better if re-written using its proprietary language etc?
You really need to go and do some research yourself…there really is a lot to learn.
You didn’t state what version of Business Objects 4x.
Here’s a couple of recommendations to get you started?
Have you converted the infocubes to the HANA optimized type? Ref. BW on HANA and the Query Execution Mode and SAP Notes 1682992 and 1734002 for further information.
Check if modifying the execution mode and / or the infocube type improves the performance of BW queries.
See SAP Note 2016832 that describes how to adjust the query execution mode.
Are you sure BICs is the best connection to use when connecting to infocubes on HANA? Also are you sure your BO server is of a good spec? Are you suffering from network latency? Are all the servers involved in the same data centre?
So much to cover, either research yourself, or engage some professional consultancy to get the job done.
