Subj. If I have multiple datastore configurations and, hence, system configurations, how to I let the Data Services know what system configuration should be used, if I invoke a Batch Job externally from the InfoPackage? Or, maybe only the default configuration gets involved?

I think you can pass additional argument when executing the job from BW
you can pass system configuration name using -ksp option
example:-
-kspPROD , PROD is name of system configuration

That’s correct, from BW you’ll see an advanced parameters option and you can pass -ksp in there as well as the very useful -r for monitor sample rate, if you don’t set that then you see nothing in the monitor log in the BODS Management Console
