BusObj Edge Standard XI3_1 on LINUX - .mdb or .xls files

Hi,

Short question, we think about buying / using SAP BusObj Edge Standard XI3_1 on LINUX plattform. Is there any (easy) way to use as well Access Databases (mdb files) or xls Files as datasources for Reports etc?

Or can I just connect with the Linux version to Oracle, DB2, Mysql etc databases?

To both, I think Yes. However, the people (SAP )that you are buying the product from should be able to tell you the answer in details.

That is exactly the point. They (SAP) told us that there is no way to connect to Microsoft Excel (xls) and Microsoft Access (mdb) files from Linux version of BO to use those files as datasource for reporting etc.

But to be honest, I cannot believe that.

Believe it. There is no Access ODBC driver in the Edge distribution for Linux; check the Supported Platforms - there is no mention of Access as a supported database.
