BusinessQuery: Unable to load resource DLL!

On a Windows 95 PC, I have an apparently undocumented error when attempting to enable the BusinessQuery add-in:

What must I do in this case?

How did you get the BQ add-in? Did you actually install it, or did you just copy the .xla file? You need to do a full install.

I’m a bit concerned about the W95 part. I’m not sure BO supports that OS on any of the more recent versions.

We have a shared master BO installation on a network file server. BQ is also installed automatically.

I had a problem earlier on other machines with BQ failing to load because the PATH environment variable was not set to include the path to the BO executable on the file server. This cured problems on Win98 PCs, but I am having this problem on the Win95 PC.

I will try including the Language subfolder on the file server also in the PATH, but I don’t know what else to try.

No!

I have a basic question - is BusinessQuery for Excel supposed to work with ZABO or not?

sriramna (BOB member since 2002-12-05)

BQ for Excel requires full client type install from CD.
I also do FC install of BO with it. Which means installing middleware.

If it is an issue, you can always grab the ZABO key from Webi later and instruct the user to login via that domain when using BO.

There is also a server version of BQ but I have not used that.

I have just got this same error on XP SP2 using Excel 2003. Were you able to resolve it?

Business Query does not work in a ZABO mode. Even though it may look like you should log in via your .rkey file, it won’t work that way.

Ours is a PC client install. Not using WEBI at all. Working fine on many other PC’s with XP and Excel 2003. Business Objects full client is working fine on the same machine. When we add the BQAPI.XLL add in we get the message

Unable to load the resource DLL correponding to your active language.
Your current language is [English/EN].
