Just wondering what your experiences are with the BusinessObject partner program both from a VAR and a consulting partner perspective.

Does BO respect their partners, or in other tems, is BusinessObjects a trust worthy partner in your experience?
Does anyone have experience with BO PSO ever try to squeeze or muscle consulting partners?
Does anyone have experience with the BO sales reps/sales org ever knowingly step in and grab a deal that was uncovered and prep-ed by a partner?
Does BO provide consulting and or sales lead to partners

Obviously I am asking these questions for reason as for some reason I am starting to believe that BO doesn’t take their partners very seriously and I want to know if it is just me if this is a general experience.
Welcome to BOB!! Seems to be a contrversial topic but defintely I would love to hear comments about the critics… I have no knowledge about BO partner program.
I don’t work for a VAR or consulting firm and never have been, so this is purely from my own observation…
I don’t think BOBJ can become the top tier BI vendor by mistreating their business partner or by stealing any deal from their business partner. Your unfortunate experience with BOBJ, if they are true, are probably isolated incidents. Have you tried to discuss these matters with BOBJ management?
I used to work for a VAR and to be totally honest never had any problems with BO. Obviously everyone needs to make money along the line, but there is usually enough to go around. I have never experienced BO PS trying to poach consultancy opportunity, in fact we have had the opposite on some occasions where our account manager at BO let us know when some of our customers were approaching them.
So in summary I would say a lot has to do with your personal relationship with your BO contact.
