business query into live office

Hi.

Is there any conversion utility/technique or procedure where we can migrate the business queries in to live office

we have some couple of .bqy reports created in 6.5.1 and we are migrating into XIR2, so instead of users recreating the queries in the new environment, is there is any possible way we can transfer the queries instead of re creating them

Try This:

  1. Copy your *.BQY folders into a test folder
  2. Rename the file extensions from *.BQY to *.WQY
  3. Using the Import Wizard, import these *.WQY files into XI
  4. Using Live Office, reinsert the queries into Excel

The *.WQY file will be imported into XI as a *.WID file (webi report).

In LiveOffice, you would use this Webi report as a data source.

deyszum,
I tried the steps you suggested for converting .bqy files over, but I couldn’t get the Import Wizard to work right. I set it up to copy over personal documents, and gave it the file location for the ones I renamed, but then when it gets to the end of the import wizard, it says it’s converting over 0 .wqy files and 0 .wid files.
Can you walk me through the Import Wizard steps?
