We migrated from Business Query 5.1.2 to Business Query 6.5.1.
When we open the BQ report in 6.5.1 environment, load BQ, place the cursor on the report and try to Edit the Query then the “Edit Query” option in the menu is greyed out.
Please suggest a resolution.
Is it a configuration issue or a Bug with BO 6.5.1?
First, I have not a big experience with BQ. However I would say that your problem is a configuration issue.
Go to BO Supervisor and in the command restrictions of BusinessQuery module you can find group “Query” and within this group there is “Edit Query” restriction. This needs to be enabled to the user you work with.
I have 5.1.8 experience with Business Query, so I’m not sure if this will help. In 5.1.8, if the query file is not in the user’s file location, the Edit Query button is greyed out.
Does 6.5.1 have File Location settings? Are they correct for this user? Is the .bqy file (if there is one in 6.5.1) in the user’s file location.
Also, in 5.1.8, the excel cursor has to be in one of cells containing the BQ data.
Also also, packed Excel Files do not allow editing.
