I’ve noticed a disconcerting problem with WebIntelligence 2, and am curious if others have seen it or found a solution to it. In summary, the problem is that I can not format negative numbers in any manner other than the default format on a report. WebIntelligence indicates that it is formatting them differently on the WebPanel, but the output stays in the default format. In addition, specifying the color in the format does not seem to work for either positive or negative numbers (although I’m less concerned about this).
For example, assume I had the following results:
Adjusted
Salesman Sales Adjustments Sales
Bob 50 -3 47
Sam 26 14 40
Lucy 100 -23 77
If I apply a format to the Adjustments to set it to “$#,##0.00;$-#,##0.00[RED]”. The results will now look like this:
Adjusted
Salesman Sales Adjustments Sales
Bob 50 -3 47
Sam 26 $14.00 40
Lucy 100 -23 77
Even though I’ve explicitly set a format for negative numbers, it is ignored. This seems to be true for both custom formats and the built in ones. Has anyone else noticed this bug? Is there a service pack for it?
In summary, the problem is that I can not format negative numbers in any
manner other than the
default format on a report.
We are aware of this bug. It will be fixed in Service Pack 1 of WebIntelligence, currently planned for release in December.
I would like to remind all subscribers that our technical support engineers can check for you whether a possible bug is known, and if so when it was or will be fixed. Also, for a smooth and quick bug fixing process, it is critical you log problems you find with a support center.

I have one that I posted last week concerning StorageManager bug #28477 and tech support cannot give me any feed back on whether it is going to be fixed. The only solution I have is to maintain the directory myself.
When is the service pack due?

I agree with Feico these things need to be reported and then you need to follow up and escalate it with Business Objects.
Posting it here also helps but maybe calling and posting will get the most visability since some of the BO folks participate in this forum.
The thing BO needs to understand is that they cannot convert the tech support servers over to Magellan (Webi 2.5) until this product is released into production. I have run into this in both cases I reported (66967 and 67134) were the engineer slipped and said “I cannot test this now since our servers are running Webi 2.5”.
