BQ_LOAD?

Hello,

I’m working with an Excel spreadsheet containing a Macro with the command

application.run ("BQ_LOAD")

As this spreadsheet now needs to be changed or made more adaptable - this BQ_LOAD is causing trouble.

First off - it doesn’t seem to work for people anymore. Well it might work for some people, but not the people who need it to work.
I’m not sure what’s missing or how BQ_LOAD was expected to work or anything… unfortunately the guy who used all this BO has left the company.

So I have some questions, bear in mind no-one I know has any BO stuff or dealings with BO and the people who did use this spreadsheet and still do - have no idea about BO.

  1. I can tell that we could have BO stuff installed, but i’m not sure if we need to - the people who have used this BQ_LOAD hungry spreadsheet don’t know anything about it.

Do we need BO apps installed to use BQ_LOAD in Excel; or is there some addin to make BQ_LOAD work in Excel.

  1. What is BQ_LOAD used for? As far as I can tell it’s used to connect to a Database and run queries, but i’m not sure what it’s needed for. Naturally I can’t check what it does because the macro doesn’t work.

I can guess that it’s used to connect with an internal database, but the only commands I can see being used are LOAD and REFRESH? What do those do?

  1. I assume everyone who wants to use this spreadsheet - will have to install whatever it is that makes BQ_LOAD work?

Thanks for any help on this, it’s a really random thing that comes up and no-one knows anything about it.

Thank you.

For information we’re all using Excel 2002, which is nice.
