BOXIR3 SP3:Infoview Java Applet Panel Not Getting Displayed

Hi
We have a BOXI R3 Sp3 deployment across 4 environments. The user can login, traverse through the folder structure and open/schedule a report with no issues at all. For the past couple of days the users arent able to modify the report. As soon as they click modify the Java Report Panel gets initialized and keeps moving on the screen. We have Java 6 SE Update 31. I was working fine since couple of days ago. I have re-installed the Java Version that comes packaged with the BOXI by removing all versions of Java from my PC. I have also restarted deleted the cache (under work directory) on Tomcat but to no avail. I have attached the verbose on the Java Console window. Strangely when I try to open a report from the Tomcat server (Windows 2008 box) the report eventually opens up in 1 minute and 45 seconds and there about. I am not sure what to do the users are not happy with the interactive panel work around and are whinging a lot. I need help whatever you guys could think of please.
I have also logged a case with SAP but the SAP support guy is hankering on using Interactive even though I have tried to impress him with my dilemma.
Any help would be of great assistance.

In case I am able to resolve the issue I would post the solution here.
Thanks!
Sam

You have not given the browser version for IE or Firefox etc
Because the BOXI 3.1 SP3 has a slightly different combination of browser & Java versions than the previous versions

Hi

Thanks for the response. We are using IE8.0 in compatibility mode. I have uninstalled all versions of Java and installed the Java from the Infoview panel(BOXI default) even then it doesnt work. On some PCs the applet is taking 8 minutes to appear.

Thanks!

Search BOB with “Infoview and IE8” keywords
Found some here

Is it same in all 4 setups?

Would suggest you to do a search for all IE8 posts

I had to modify BO when the java version went up, BO wants to check and install if it’s not what it likes (as of 3.1 sp3, certainly)…

Just a thought, maybe it’s hangiing up on that version check / fail?

look at this file (for .net) web.config under analyticalreporting, then check the code that looks at the java version numbers - I set mine up to 32…

Just a thought, similar would be in web.xml for tomcat…

Also, I have seen were previous versions get hung up during install - may have to search the registry for references to the old version, too.

Good luck!
B
