Hello BO champions,
Could you please help me out in extracting the user list from Business Objects.
Actually, I want to extact the information using shell script.
So, if you could forward me Commands/SQL scripts where in I can pass some parameters like CMS repository name, username and password.
I am using BO Xi R2 SP4.
I would really appreciate your help.

I am getting the following error when i am using BOXI_UserListV3.xls
“Active Dircetory Authentication failed to get the Active Dircetory groups for the account ID … CN , OU = , OU . Please make sure this account is valid and belongs to an accessible domain. 1000040.”
I am using Admin account to loginto the macro. Do i need any library files on my system before trying out this solution?

Did you find a solution to this? I was using this for about year without any problems, and now I’m getting similar error as well on XI 3.1 SP2 and excel 2007.

I too have the same problem. Earlier it worked with BOXI 3.2. Later we did the AD Authentication. Now, we have Excel 2007. I’m getting the same error as BO JACK.
Any solution for this pleaaaaseeeeeeeee…

I had the same issue. I now downloaded BOXI UserListV4.xls and it works! So, try to download again since you have a new MS Office (2007) installation. It should work for you too…

I have downloaded your v3 spreadsheet and changed the references from 11.5 to 12 when I try to run (click the extract Data from CMS_ I get the following error - transport error: No response from server, timeout exceeded. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I get an error in all versions: The system XXXX can be contacted, but there is no Central Management Server running at port 6400. I checked the Central Conig Mgr and my port is set to 6400 and i can access the web CMS. What can i do?

When I run the v3 copy I get , Sess As SessionMgr - how do I resolve this??

Hi, this spreadsheet is really useful, thanks for posting it.
Is there anyway it can be modified so i can get information per group instead of per user? i need a way of extract who belongs to each group. i have tried using the excel functions to change your spreadsheet but i dont thin k it is possible to do this easily.
Or is there another way of doing this?

Hello,
Please help with a script that will add description field.
We have 300+ enterprise users in 3.1 and all for them have Full names but description field blank.
BO search can only search based on title or description, so we can’t use the search att all.
I like to run a script that will make description same as Full names for all users instead of do it manually.

I am getting “Active directory authenticatin failed…” error due to some bad user ids. The purpose is to find out and clean out all the bad records and this macros does not run successfully if you have any bad ids in your repository. How can I make the bad ids (meaning those Ids which have been removed from windows AD active directory but have not been removed from the repository) print in the excel spreadsheet?

Indeed you have such error due to orphelin AD users…
You need to skip such error within the script…

@Anna, yes the script is not working if bad AD users are inside list of users. It’s quite hard to do an extraction of this type…
@Seb, for info, bad users like that are working now in 360eyes

Thanks a lot Julien for sharing the file with us- I have used this file successfully in XIR2
now in XI3.1 SP3 followed your suggestions and changed 5 libraries to 12.0 and now when tried to connect CMs using Administrator id - it is giving me crystal enterprise infostore error - Active Directory authentication failed - check your login id etc.
please help or release a version for XI3.1 sp3

1st of all- Thank you very much for such a wonderful Excel Macro.

In XIR2 we have LDAP and XIR3 we have WinAD authentication.
XIR2 will be sunset pretty soon. We need to run this excel macro to get some auditor information and going forward, would like to use this tool for XIR3 application.
I am not able to run the excel macro in XIR2 and XIR3. Would be really great if anyone can let me know what change should I made and where to get this excel macro working in XIR2 and XIR3. Thanks a ton.
