BOE XI 3.1 w/ Crystal XI release 2

I plan on upgrading a windows clustered environment from XIr2 to XI3.1, but I dont plan on upgrading client tool crystal reports to cr2008.

My understanding is this should work without issue and until the crystal tool is upgraded to 2008 version, developers may not be able to leverage “all” the new functionality in XI3.1.

am I missing anything?

It is my understanding that this is correct. Vice versa, i.e. CR 2008 with R2, is a problem I seem to remember.

Does using the Import Wizard, to bring CRXI R2 report objects from BOXI R2 to R3, convert the .rpt file to CR 2008 during the process? I heard that R3 needed CR 2008 files, but I’m hoping that person was wrong.
