As stated before, best to talk to your Rep in great detail, get everything from SAP-BOBJ in writing - and watch for the fine print.

There’s a lot of cryptic stuff in the BOBJ Licenses…and it is always in-flux.

First, to run more than one CONTENT type - you need to have a PREMIUM License for BOE (not PROFESSIONAL which is limited to one (1) CONTENT TYPE).

If you are looking to send PDFs of Crystal Reports via e-mail you may be forced to CPU licenses rather than NAMED…

I have a question: If you are using a NUL (named user license) model and are exporting out PDF, HTML, XLS, or CSV files, please stay standing - the rest of you can sit down. My VMWare host is running a Xenon processor (Quad Core). The VM machine with windows 2003 sees it as only 1 cpu and single core rather than a quad core. Do we know if by Business Objects licensing models for VMware deployments, we will be violating the agreement. Assuming we are licensed for a 2 cpu deployment. Ok, so we have an 8 CPU on our Windows 2008 server but only have 5 CPU licenses. I have heard of a way where we can still keep the 8 CPU server intact and simply allocate the 5 CPU license to 5 of the 8 CPU’s. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Hello, We have been running XIR2 for a couple of years now and it appears we have just been ‘audited’ by SAP. According to them, we are out of compliance in our licensing. Here is the situation: We have a 500 named user ‘basic’ key, a 5-user ‘upgrade’ key (from Basic to Professional) and another 5-user 'upgrade key (from Professional to Premium.) I have a very basic question for BO Edge Series. Let’s say if a company goes for BOE Edge 5 CAL licenses, how many number of users can be created in CMC. If it is 5, what is the difference between 5 Named users and 5-CAL? aneelf (BOB member since 2006-05-15)
