I am sure atleast a sizable number of gurus here have really done a great deal of checking and testing on BOE 4.0 and I am just getting started on the new version on a Windows 2008 64 bit server. Hence I had a few questions on the overall setup when we compare it with the BO XI 3.x versions. I feel it would be great if anybody can share their insights and thoughts on the below queries I had which are based on my observations thus far!
We had Custom access levels in BO XI 3.x which was pulled into BOE 4.0 using Upgrade Management Tool. In BOE 4.0, all the custom access levels show “Unknown access level” for the rights which are no longer part of the enterprise. What would be the best way to ensure the rights are maintained as per the custom access levels being set for our enterprise? Recreation of all of them? If recreation is the option which I think is, then do we know if we have any help documentation available [apart from the huge admin guide]
How does the security setup work for the different client tools in BOE 4.0. Are there a Best Practices/Suggested approach documents available?
There is a new interesting feature in BOE 4.0 - Monitoring! Are there any documentation on the usage of Monitoring Tool in BOE 4.0 - like what should the thresholds be if we add a new server for checking on Monitoring?
Any new questions are welcome which can help anybody starting out on BOE 4.0.
