currently we’re in the planning phase of an BO DS upgrade.
Current version:
IPS 4.0 SP4
Data Services 4.1 SP3 P3
Plan to upgrade to:
IPS 4.2 SP3
Data Services 4.2 SP7
The main reason is, that Salesforce will stop the TLS 1.0 Support and we must upgrade to DS 4.2 to get SIMBA Salesforce Adapter support.
We must be able to further support Salesforce connections.
I contacted SAP Support (OSS Call: 276669 / 2016) for preparing the upgrade to get the SAP transport files in advance.
I got the information that there is only one transport available (R000001.R63).
DS 4.2 will support SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 systems and higher only.
Our problem is that 80% our SAP systems are still on SAP 4.6c and/or SAP 4.7.
Only 2-3 SAP Systems are on ECC 6.0.
Now my questions:
- Is it possible to Import the provided transport into SAP systems earlier than ECC 6.0 without issues?
- Or is there any “hidden” transport for earlier SAP R/3 systems?
- If not, what are our possibilities to support SAP 4.6c / 4.7 SAP R/3 Systems in DS 4.2?
- Can we use the existing /BODS functions and generated pre-loaded ABAP extractors from DS 4.1?
- I got the information that /BODS Functions (DS 4.1) and /SAPDS Functions (DS 4.2) cannot exist in parallel in one SAP R/3 system. Is this correct? And what is the reason for this?
