BODS Landscape and sizing

Hi,

We are planning to implement SAP BODS in conjunction with MDM/BPM to ensure data quality for central master data management. In this case, CE/BPM solution will issue calls to Data Services web services for data quality before committing data to MDM. Please look at the attachment.

What is the recommended landscape for BODS in SAP landscapes? Eg. we have a 10 system landscape including sandbox, development, qa, integration testing, UA testing, pre-prod, BaU sandbox, BaU development, BaU QA, and Prod. So my questions are:

  1. what does a typical landscape look like for BODS? Does it make sense to match BODS instances with the rest of the SAP landscape, or is it ok to keep the instance count lower by sharing BODS across systems (might impact change management complexity)?

  2. how do I size BODS? I haven’t been able to locate a sizing guide.

Note: We are already using a single instance of BODS for data migration.

Any pointers???
