Just a quick question while I’m investigating our upgrade from BODS 3.2 to BODS 4.2.
Will the DS 4.2 for redhat linux run on CentOS 7.2 on Power7? or is it just for the Intel x86 architecture?
TIA

In all case, even if CentOS is technicaly equivalent to RHEL, it is not officialy supported by SAP, then, don’t run the risk o install then use BODS in production on such OS. Regarding x86 Vs Power 7, I don’t know. maybe you can try

Bernard,
Thanks for the quick response. I’ve seen your other posts regarding CentOS.
I’d be looking to use RHEL in Production - can’t be unsupported.
I just wanted to build a Proof Of Concept as the first stepping stone.
Our Development, Test , and Production environments are all on IBM Power7 architecture. I wanted to move away from AIX towards Linux and our future look is towrds RHEL.
There is CentOS available for Power7 (big endian) but, I’m concerned that BODS is compiled on x86 architecture and won’t install?
Anyone?

I can’t say. You should ask official BO-SAP techsupport about this question

Yeup, you’re quite right!
Will post an update - if I get one …

Update
I checked the PAM and various SAP Notes and ended up emailing the SAP linux lab to obtain clarification.
It turns out my thinking was correct. The linux versions of Data Services available are for the Intel / AMD based platforms only. They will not run on the Power architecture!
