BODS 3.2 jobs fail with error codes 34 and 39

Hi,

BODS 3.2 jobs(export shell) fail with error codes 34 and 39.
However, no error was shown in management console and jobs were shown as successful. Please explain what error codes 34 and 39 mean and how to prevent them. By the way, about 2 years ago, same error 34 occurred but at that time cause was very high CPU load. However this time CPU at the time of the error occurred was not so high (only about 70%).
Now we found that the Error Code 34 is attributed to network error. And the network error was caused by lack of semaphores.
Few questions:-
“What is recommended value for semaphore settings?” “Are the any demerits if number of semaphores is increased?
Any inputs will be great.

My recommendation would be upgrading to a supported version.

Hi Ernie,
Please can I get help on workaround to do settings at job server level if any.
The idea is to prevent such errors.
Is there any note related to this. Such inputs is helpful.

There is one note on 34, says it is:

“The Data Services user does not have permissions to execute the file called in the exec function.”

Not sure if it is applicable, but that’s all I see for 34 or 39. Really need to get to a current version, though, you are out of support and security updates. Likely you will continue to find problems that need a patch to fix.
