BO4 - apply service pack update - stop Tomcat beforehand

Hi,

Looking to soon update BO4 SP08 to BO4.2 SP05 and read
sap note 1757132 - BI4 Support Pack Update and Patch Install Best Practice Guide
mentions stop all services apart from CMS, I/OFRS + Tomcat (app_server)

Other guides mention stop all servers apart from cms, i/ofrs but make no mention of tomcat.

Just wondered people’s experiences of whether best to stop tomcat before applying service pack update.

Know the service pack will update from tomcat 6 to tomcat 8 as bundled tomcat with business objects using.

I’ve always stopped Tomcat. Never had any issues.
