I am on XI 3.0. Am facing huge problem is setting rights for users. I am able to set rights only once in one session. I have to log off after each change I make. This is very frustating… Has anyone encountered this error or knows if there is any other workaround?
Are you using the Administrator account itself?
What type of rights did you setup for the Everyne group and the Administrators group?
Did you have to cope with this problem after a migration from Xir2 or a fresh install?
If i dont log off and continue changing rights and access, i keep getting the message “No access levels set” when i click ok and nothing i did is reflected.
And i logged in using adminsitrator account. This is a fresh install, not an upgrade from R2.
Sorry to resurrect this old topic but I am seeing this same issue and have not been able to resolve it. The first time I go into CMC as Administrator I can change one Group or User’s Access Level but if I try to work on another one it gives me this same “No access Level nor rights are explicity assigned. Do you wish to continue?” message.
No matter what I try I cannot change any access level for any group or user until I logout and go back in - then I can do it again one time for one user or group.
Did anyone ever find a cause for this a see a similar issue. I’m sure something is amiss in the setup I just don’t know what.
I dont have access to the specific environment where i saw this issue anymore. But I have some ideas from a seemingly similar issue
My BO environment was on Websphere - and the below scenario is specific to Websphere only
I had a similar issue with Infoview. In a session, I could see the schedule history of a report just once. After that, whichever report’s history I tried to view, i kept getting the first viewed history page itself, till I logged off and logged in again. Raised a ticket with SAP on this. They first got back saying they wont solve this because this issue required “some setting change in Websphere that is unknown to SAP-BO” and has nothing to do with the product as such. Later they got back with exactly what setting needs to be changed in Websphere (Obviously they had researched it already internally and had a solution. It was also stated that this issue will not be fixed in any patch since it has nothing to do with BO as such). We did as they suggested and Infoview issue got resolved. We had planned to try the same thing for the CMC issue, but I wasnt around when it was done, so not sure if the same solution would work for CMC.
Are you on Websphere? If so, I’ll try to dig up the solution they offered.
Wow, that could definitely be it - we are on Websphere. We contacted SAP and they said the problem was unknown to them but it couldn’t be BO since no one else has this problem
If you have any luck diggin up that setting it would be of tremendous help.
This is what BO suggested for the Infoview issue I mentioned. Hope it works for you. All the Best!!
