Log into the CMC and make sure that the Report Engine Server is running.

I just checked, and it’s called the Web Intelligence Report Server. That’s the one you need to create a Web Intelligence document.

That is already in Running mode. as i told, all the servers in CMC are in Running mode. Appreciate your helpin resolving this.

Thanks

I am also receiving this error when trying to create a webi report through xi r2. I checked the web intelligence report server and it is running. I was wondering if you found a solution.

An error has occurred: Could not initialize Report Engine server. (Error: RWI 00226)

Thanks,

Is it running and enabled?

I disabled my development one but left the service still running and got the same error as you.

DavidL has a good point. A server can be running in the CMC, but disabled. Log into the Web Admin tool to see if the “Servers” are running. Also in the CMC see if the servers are disabled. You need to click one of the icons on top to see the enabled/disabled servers in the cluster.

I am having the same error, but it is related to user rights. This occured to me when I first time wanted to create a new WEBIreport, but had no rights to use the HTML panel. When I authorized the group to use the HTML panel it worked. Altough the user has selected the Java Report Panel.

Thanks Dave,

I enables the servers and it is working now. Thanks.

Another reason for this error is that some groups do not have access to execute a WEBI report that is assigned to specific servers groups. I came across such a report where the user complained that any attempts to execute the report was causing this error. After exhausting all methods I could think of I checked the server group in the schedule page and the user had no access to the group the report was defaulted to execute under. I clicked on the First available server option and it fixed the problem

Thank You

An error has occurred: Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (Error: RWI 00226)

When i restarted the FILE REPOSITORY SERVER ( Input file repository server) in the CMC , it started to work fine.

mariasundarrajs,

Welcome to B:bob:B!

You’ve got an unresponsive service. You may need to kill it in the Task Manager, if you can figure out which service to kill. Otherwise, reboot.

There is no problem with services, however in Java admin launchpad, Central Configuration Manager > Servers the server (Web Intelligence Report Server) is in stopped state… what ever I do, either stop/start or disable/enable there is no change in the server state. It is in stopped state only with red icon.
please help.
