BO XI REL2 Desktop Intelligence tends to hang when Yahoo Messenger is running, especially in the scenario where I get back to BO XI Rel2 DI and click on a menu after working on some other applications (e.g. Excel) for a while.
According to the computer task manager, it shows busobj.exe is using 50% of the computer memory and 50% of the CPU time while freezing.
The environment is XP professional SP2, BO XI R2 Desktop Intelligence SP2. I tried to use different versions of Yahoo Messengers (V6, 7 and 8), every of them is causing BO XI R2 DI to hang.
Has anyone had the similar experience? Any suggestion or comment would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
I am getting desperate as we can’t get rid of Yahoo messenger because it is the common communication channel in our business. But on the other hand, this problem is happening very often - freaking users out.
Thanks. I manage to run a dump report with a windows debugging tool. And it points to a BO XI R2 dll file – uitools.dll, do you have any idea what this DLL file does?
[Moderator Edit: I suggest that you avoid using “DI” for Desktop Intelligence – even if BusinessObjects doesn’t like it, it would be better to call it “DeskI”. “DI” has often been used as the acronym for the “Data Integrator” product line here on the board. ]
Just a quick update, this problem is finally addressed by BO, after months of efforts. And the fix will be in service pack 2.5, due to release in the end of Sep 2007.
