BO XI 3: Report Comparison Tool?

Is the “Report Comparison Tool” still somewhere available for BO XI 3.1? I didn’t found it at SAP. Is it still working with version 3.1?

I would like to compare reports from BO 6.5.

I haven’t heard of a comparison tool from BO. There are a number of third party vendors who fill this role.

BO did create the ‘Report Conversion Tool’ to try and convert DeskI documents to WebI, is that perhaps what you were thinking of ?

I think he is asking for availability of Report conversion tool for 3.1. It was there in XI R2, even I haven’t heard anything for XI 3.1.

there still is a report comparison tool - since it may not be found at SAP s messy site… contact your SAP-Sales…

In XI3.1’s report conversion tools there is an report comparison tool.
Obviously this will only work if you upgrade deski reports to webi

In XIR3.1 we have got one ‘Report Comparison tool V3.0’, but when I try to select the source, it just gives 2 options ‘XIR2’ or ‘XIR3.1’ as source.
We don’t have options for the older versions.
I doubt if it compares the deski and the converted WebI reports, as I selected the source and new version as the same. It gives an error message.

I remember when I tried that with XIR2, we earlier version of the comparison tool to check the reports from classic BO and XI version. Is it still there ?

The rct (report comparison tool I know) has the ability to compare version 5, 6, and xi - availability of the options depends on installed versions that rct can find…

The 3.x client tools installer brings with it the “Report Conversion Tool”. But, on the download site, I also see standalone install media for a 3.x “Report Comparison Tool” – what’s the difference between these? Should I install the latter if the former already was installed by the client tools install?

Report conversion… converts Deski Reports (the old Desktopintelligence .rep reports) into Webi Reports (.wid) - (if possible…) :wink:

The comparison tool is used to compare reports of different versions or of different environments and gives you an impression of the differences…

so the one converts the ofter one compares reports…

Thanks! I was thinking it was something like that. The Report Conversion Tool doc says the following (p.24):

But, the Conversion tool docs doesn’t say at all that one needs to install the Comparison Tool. So, is the separate install actually needed? Or does the Conversion Tool bring the Comparison Tool’s Delta Viewer with it?
