BO XI 3.1 and Sharepoint

Hi,

Can any one tell me if there is a forum on BOB that talks about Sharepoint integration or publication.

If not is there any document in the SAP site taliking about this subject.

I have Business Objects XI 3.1 and I want to integrate the option for a 2007 Sharepoint.

Do I need to download the first file from the first link (Integration option for Microsoft SharePoint 1.0)

I have already downloaded the file in this link “Download BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SharePoint 2007 Portal Integration Kit”.

Have you installed it. I will do this for the first time. Can you give me any advice or a plan.

The two products are different. The Integration Option is the newer one. Use the Search feature on this BOB site for “sharepoint”, you will see a few postings about it.

My humble $0.02.

Most BO deployments do NOT need Sharepoint Integration. All they need is an ability to schedule a BO report, generate it in say pdf format and place it on a Sharepoint location. This pdf report shall then be consumed by the users without needing to login to Business Objects and thus avoid BO training etc. Not to mention this allows them to check reports from BO as well as other applications from one site(Sharepoint).

If this is the user requirement then you do NOT need to install Sharepoint plugins. You can simply do this by scheduling. Let me know if this is indeed your requirement and I shall be glad to assist.

Of course if you need the whole spectrum, as in launching BO console from Sharepoint site, selecting and running reports etc then you do have to install the plugins.

By the way… the Integration Option for SharePoint 1.0 only supports 32-bit SharePoint. That’s too bad for us, since we’re already on 64-bit SharePoint 2007. Moreover, SharePoint 2010 will be 64-bit only, no 32-bit, so hopefully SAP will release a 64-bit variant of this integration soon.

Hi BO_TN,

I am trying to post report at SharePoint 3.0 document library in pdf and xls format using scheduler.

I have tried following option.

  1. Able to post report at shared drive using UNC path.
  2. Web Client Service is running at BO server.
  3. All Job servers are configured with the Destination setting.
  4. Able to browse SharePoint document library UNC path from Windows.

But when I am using SharePoint UNC path
(\10.10.100.100\itapplications\docs\BO_Scheduler_Reports\ or \sharepoint.abc.com\itapplications\docs\BO_Scheduler_Reports) as the File location source in scheduler, I am getting the following error

[b]source file error. [Invalid argument]: [CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged][\b]

I have tried lot of options but no luck :hb: , Please suggest

Thanks,

Using BO3.1+SP2
OS Windows Server 2003
Domain is same for BO and Sharepoint server

This is our requirement. We just need to publish the PDF report into the share point server. Can you please help me with the steps on how to schedule this report to the share point location.

we are using Share point 2010

Thanks,

You need a share folder on the share point server where the document library reads from. You then need to give the service account, used to run bo on the server, read write and modify rights to that directory. You can then specify the UNC path in the desitination section when you schedule the report via scheduling tool.

I believe you can hard code the user name and password to the directory but when your password changes you need to remember to change it in the schedule as well.

Hello,
we did all steps above to schedule reports on 3.1 with UNC path to Sharepoint 2007 folder that has read write access for BO Service account, but still error:
[Invalid argument]: [CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged
Please help ASAP

Cathy,
i thought this forum is full of the expert in the related field(s).
Do you remember what your friend did?
I do not have such frineds:(
Thanks is advance.

I think that our issue is related to the OS Windows 2008 and it has some security settings plus build in IE 7 that does not allow to post reports via UNC to sharepoint server 2007.

Another alternative to posting to the library is by emailing it to the library. To do this you may need to coordinate with your sharepoint and exchange personnel. Within particular libraries in SharePoint you can allow the library to accept email documents. We’ve found this to be easier in our shop at the moment vs. posting the documents.

Are you saying that the actual folder in SharePoint has to be shared? Or just that the user has to have access to the site and folder? Because I’m using my administrator account that has access to the SharePoint site.

Thanks!!!
