BO versus Tableau

Hi All,

Is any one documented differnt features and advanatages and disadvantages with BOBJ and Tableau.

Could you please share here .

It also depends on your data source. If it is SAP BW, then SAP BI BusObjects (with Analysis MS Office, Webi, DesignStudio, etc.) is almost a no brainer.

If you have nothing in house (no experience of either), then it’s a cleaner decision but these comparisons never take that into account.

Which version of BO are you on and what components do you use?

What data sources do you report against? E.g. Oracle, SQL Server, SAP BW

You cannot compare Tableau to BOBJ in general as you have to compare like for like i.e. either Xcelsius, Lumira or Dashboard Manager.

Personally, I think Tableau is the most efficient Dashboard tool I have ever used :yesnod:

In terms of development time, flexibility, performance and scalability, Tableau or other in-memory tools like QlikView must win WebI

The advantage of WebI I could think of is the reporting function and ad hoc query capability. As mentioned, it is hard to compare 2 products with different strength but I will say WebI is losing in the market when competing with Tableau
