I installed Business Objects 651 on windows 2003 server. Everything works fine. after few days there is automatic update on my server and it installed windows 2003 sp1 automatically. Then BO starts breaking up for every 10 minutes. Then i downloaded BO 652 from ESD site and installed BO service pack 2 on the windows server 2003 server but then also it is breaking up for every 10 to 15 minutes. we are rebooting the server sometimes and some times we are stopping webi and iis and restarting iis and webi and it is just like a night mare to me to restart the server for evert few minutes to make it work. Once i restarted and try to login through the infoview it works fine for few minutes on the server. Once i try to login from the user pc through infoview i will get message Internal error and no error number. Again i need to restart the iis and webi on the server to make it work.
I am not sure what is causing that Intenal error problem.
Is there anyone who can shoot out some advice to get rid of those internal error problem.
I installed windows 2003 sp1 after installing BO 651. then i instaleld BO 652 on the top of 651 because 652 is just the combination of no of hotfixes not the full installtion of Business objects.
When i talked with Business objects they told me that 652 is just the combination of hotfixes but not the full installtion of Business objects and asked me to download from ESD site…
is it something i am making it wrong with 652 instalation…
That is what I was referring to. Win 2003 SP1 is not officially supported by 6.5 SP1 which is 651.
Yes 652 is not a new product installation but its just a combination of Hot Fixes. Did you have a clean 651 installation without any HotFixes installed on it before or you had some hotfixes installed on 651?
651 clean installation is fine but you installed MS SP1 on 651 before moving to 652 ideally it should have been the other way around 651-> 65 SP2 → MS SP1. But again I’m not saying thats the reason for your problem but could be. When the problem occurs can you use ZABO? Did you enable tracing on the server? Any process that is peaking up when this happens?
Is it ok if we install in this way. Windows 2003 server sp1 then 651 → 65sp2. When the problem exists we are not abel to use ZABO also. How to enable tracing on the server? all the process are fine. No process is peaking up…
