BO 4 Mobile on iPad - Error MOB 06009

Dear all,

I am trying to set up BO4 with the iPad. I followed exactly the manual but I am stuck now: it seems like I can access the BO server via the iPad, but I get the error MOB 06009 (HTTP 404) when I try to connect from the app.

I did following:

  • stopped the Tomcat
  • deployed the war files
  • restarted the Tomcat (MobileBI folders appeared)
  • added the lines for ipad categories to the to the mobi.properties file
  • restarted the SIA completely
  • added folders for “Mobile” in the pulic and personal categories in the CMC
  • I called http://myBOServer:8080/MobileBIService/MessageHandlerServlet?message=GetVersion from a browser running on the server and another in the network and got the XML, so this looks fine
  • I set up the connection on the iPad as:
    Name: myServersName
Server-URL: http://myserver:6405 (because it runs in the web on 6405)
CMS-Name: myserver (tried also with port 6400 and 6405 and 8080)
    Auth: Enterprise
User/password as in BO (admin rights)

–> When connecting, I always get the error (translated to english):

“Your request is not valid. Verify your connection details or contact you administrator. (MOB 06009) (HTTP 404)”

It seems like the iPad talks to the server, but something is missing …

Does anyone has an idea how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance & regards,

B.[/list]

Hi bastula,

Did you solve this?

Hi Marcelo,

yes, we got it fixed.

Unfortunately the error messages are kind of random and might be linked to several causes. One is of course firewall and possibly blocked ports, another is the way you enter the connection parameters. Finally for us this worked:

Name: servername <-- only the name without http or domain
Server-URL: http://servername.subdomain.domain:8080
CMS Name: IP adress as xx.xx.xx.xx
Authentication: Enterprise

A valid test is to access the Tomcat via the iPads browser. If you get the Tomcat image, you should be able to access via the app.

Cheers,
B.

bastula,

You would have to create a category in BI Launchpad to view and download the mobile reports.
Create a category called “Mobile”
Drag a sample report in that category.
Now connect your ipad again, hit refresh.
you should be able to see the report now.

Anything in the mobile category would be visible on the ipad. For security options and other details , check out the user guide available at help.sap.com
